LSC-Kingwood “over the moon” to receive special tree that traveled to space
A tree that traveled to space and orbited the moon will now be landing at Lone Star College-Kingwood, to be planted on the campus where the motto is, fittingly, “Start close, go far.” NASA selected LSC-Kingwood to receive the tree out of 1,300 applications.
LSC-Kingwood professors featured in Houston’s new Meow Wolf immersive art exhibit
Two Lone Star College-Kingwood Visual Art Adjunct Professors are being featured in the new Meow Wolf immersive art exhibit in Houston. Adela Andea and Loc Huynh are among roughly 40 local and international artists chosen to create installations in the exhibit, which will open Thursday, October 31st.
Lone Star College-Kingwood Music Department receives $18,000 scholarship
The LSC-Kingwood Music Department is the recipient of an $18,000 David A. Livingston and Diane L. Livingston Endowed Scholarship earmarked for music majors.

Dr. Melissa N. Gonzalez is the newly appointed President at Lone Star College-Kingwood. She was formerly the President of Houston Community College-Southeast from 2017-2021. Before HCC, Dr. Gonzalez served in numerous leadership roles at Lone Star College, Dean at LSC-North Harris, Special Assistant to the President, Interim Vice President and Vice Chancellor of Workforce and Economic Development.
