Career Services
Lone Star College in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission is dedicated to developing partnerships with area corporations to offer students workforce training and job placement services. This joint venture will increase skilled employees, grow wages and improve job retention in six industries: manufacturing, automotive, information technology, business, visual communication, and health care.
Lone Star College Career & Transfer Center is enhanced with services such as our Career Star portal. In the portal you will explore career assessments which provide a comprehensive look into what type of careers best suit your skills and talents, job postings provide a platform for discovering new opportunities and available training at Lone Star College to match these exciting new careers. In addition, we also provide a variety of resources and events to help guide individuals through the entire job search process. Meet Our Staff
Krystal Archie
Career and Transfer Center Manager
Krystal Archie most recently served as the Admissions and Student Affairs Coordinator at University of Texas - McGovern Medical School downtown. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and her master’s degree from University of Houston-downtown. Krystal possesses more than 11 cumulative years of experience in higher education in multiple departments; with an extensive background in the financial aid department. Krystal served more than 5 years as career and academic counselor in the TRIO Talent Search department at Texas Southern University, serving more than 1000 students per year. More recently, she served as both interim coordinator and academic and career advisor in the Dual Credit department at San Jacinto College, servicing 2000 students per semester.
Krystal’s passion and immediate impact has been most visible in engaging students, faculty, staff, and community members- building and establishing partnerships in the career and transfer center. She has the heart and means to serve all students and meet them where they are, as she thrives in building interpersonal relationships with all students and has hit the ground running since her start date in the fall of 2023. Her continued goal is to keep increasing access and opportunity for all students in the Lone Star College system.

Jaiyda Tyler
Career and Transfer Advisor
Jaiyda Tyler is a Career and Transfer Advisor within Lone Star College-Kingwood's Career and Transfer Center where her passion and focus is servicing her immediate and extended communities. Tyler obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University's College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Tyler has since held roles throughout community colleges in both the state of Michigan and Texas. She intends to continue her work within higher education and focus on community activism and service.
