Open Labs
The ASC Open Computer Labs offer students a quiet space to study, take tests, and complete academic work, with computers available in both the TECH and CASE buildings. These labs are designed to support independent learning and are equipped with the resources needed for various academic tasks. By providing a dedicated area for focused study, the labs contribute to the overall learning environment at LSC-CyFair and help ensure students have the tools they need to succeed.

Resources
Pay-to-Print and Mobile Print
Pay-to-Print gives students, faculty, staff, library patrons and guests the ability to print documents in color or black and white for a small fee at any LSC library. Some computer labs are also equipped with the services for students, faculty, and staff use. First, funds must be added to an online account before a user can print. Students, faculty, and staff with either an LSC Student/Employee ID or a Library card (Harris or Montgomery County Public Library) can add funds to their account using an Add Value Station (AVS) or online via myPrintCenter.
MobilePrint for Students
MobilePrint allows Lone Star College students to send a document to any of the Pay-to-Print release stations in any of the college libraries from their mobile device – laptop, tablet or smartphone. Email the documents you want to print as attachments to mobileprint@my.lonestar.edu. Only the attachments will print, not the text from the email.
Benefits
This service is inexpensive and easily accessible to students, faculty, staff, library patrons, and guests.
Features
Printing - Color or Black and White
High availability
Excellent high speed printing
What to Expect?
Service is only available during the location's hours of operation.
Responsibilities
Report problems or requests for assistance to the OTS Service Desk. Use the print stations to add money to accounts. Students that will be paying cash (using an Add Value Station) for their printing must have a LSC Student ID badge. If you do not have a badge, apply at the circulation desk at your college library.
Need to print but don't have a student ID? Bring your proof of enrollment (receipt from the Payment Center in CASA) to the check-out desk in the Library and get your LSC student ID badge today.
Visit the Technology Services instructional guide for a step-by-step explanation on how to use the pay-to-print system.

For the sake of the effectiveness, durability, and efficiency of the open lab, policies have been set in place for the different populations involved in the lab's operations. It is expected that both users (students and faculty) and lab staff will be familiar with and follow these policies.
- Patrons are expected to conduct themselves with civility, politeness, and decorum.
- The lab computers are to be used by LSCS Faculty, Staff and students currently enrolled ONLY. Lab Users are required to logon to computers using their LSCS ID and password.

- Students are asked to treat all equipment with care and to leave the lab stations in order.
- Lab phone is not for student use.

Reserve TECH 104A, our General Purpose Lab Classroom

The lab classroom may also be used for instructional training in innovative technologies and for other training purposes. Other college groups (e.g., clubs, staff meetings) seeking computer lab space will be accommodated if the room is available. Please note that all users are expected to follow the conditions stated above and all Open Labs user policies.
All reservations must take place during the TECH-104 Open Lab hours or CASE-104 Open Lab hours. No exceptions are possible. Please use the same form for both labs.
- Class visits are either 50 or 80 minutes and must begin on the hour or the half-hour. Each class may visit a maximum of twice a week in the fall and spring semesters and three times a week in the summer.
- Basic in-class assistance with technology tasks is available with advance request. Please email cfasclabs@lonestar.edu at least one week before the visit for which you would like assistance. If at all possible, we will provide assistance.
- Requests must be made at least two business days in advance. A visit is not confirmed until you have received confirmation via a Microsoft Outlook calendar invitation from the Open Labs. The Open Labs staff will respond via Outlook calendar event invitations, and they will contact you if there is a date conflict.
- If you need to cancel a reservation, please email cfasclabs@lonestar.edu so that other classes may use the room.
- If you want to make more reservation requests than the form below allows, you will need to submit a second form.
