Lone Star College-University Park’s (LSC-University Park) Drama Department will present John Guare’s award-winning dark comedy "The House of Blue Leaves," a moving exploration of fame, family, and delusion. As Artie’s world unravels, the play weaves together a dynamic blend of humor and heartbreak.
LSC-University Park hosts community heart walk and registration fair Oct. 26
Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) is excited to once again serve as the host site for the American Heart Association (AHA) Northwest Harris County (NWHC) Heart Walk on Sat., Oct. 26, 2024, bringing together community members, students, and local organizations for a day of heart health awareness and celebration. This year's event features a lively Fall Fest theme, offering a variety of family-friendly activities and a fundraising goal of $280,000.
LSC-University Park hosts Fit4Life community wellness fair on Oct. 9
LSC-University Park staff members welcomed the community to last year’s Fit4Life Wellness Fair. This year’s fair takes place Oct. 9, 2024, from noon to 3 p.m. in the Grand Hall at 20515 SH 249, Houston, TX 77040. Parking and admission are free.
Preparing students for the future: LSC-University Park launches new AI/ML program and lab
Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) unveiled its state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics laboratory during a Sept. 17 ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new lab, a culmination of efforts initiated in 2022 under the leadership of LSC-University Park Vice President of Instruction Steven Kahla, Ph.D., and the Division of Computer & Engineering Technology, marks a significant milestone in the college's commitment to technological advancement.
LSC-University Park Opens UP Care Center to Enhance Student Support
Surrounded by representatives from the American Heart Association and the Houston Food Bank, Lone Star College-University Park Interim President Matthew Dempsey, M.S., Ed.D., (center) cuts the ribbon officially opening the college’s new UP Care Center, an expanded resource center dedicated to supporting total student well-being.
