Bio

Myriam Saldívar joined the Lone Star College System Board as Trustee District 6 in 2016. Ms. Saldívar grew up in the Aldine area, where she graduated from Aldine Sr. High School. After graduating high school, she attended Lone Star College-Tomball and later graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in International Studies and minor in Political Science. Her education has led her to work for the Texas House of Representatives where she concentrates in drafting legislation targeting the advancement of healthcare, education, and public safety. 

Myriam has been active in public service for more than ten years, lending her passion to help our communities and empower individuals through education. Her dedication to provide opportunities to our youth has led her to serve in the Board of the Aldine-Greenspoint Y.M.C.A. Additionally, she has served as Board Chair of Vecino Health Center--- providing much needed health resources to underserved communities. She also served in the Hispanic Advisory Committee for the Houston Independent School District—designed to help promote educational resources for at risk students. In her spare time, Myriam enjoys traveling, hiking, jogging and anything outdoors.
