Our Mission

The Lone Star College Foundation's mission is to change lives through student scholarships and quality educational programs achieved by excellence in relationship building, fundraising, and investment management.

Providing scholarships, supporting programs and building communities

Founded in 1991, the Foundation has expanded its initial investment of $20,000 into an extensive portfolio of over $30 million, and has provided over $15 million in scholarships to nearly 16,000 students, as well as more than $7 million in program support since its inception. In 2019-2020, the Foundation provided $2.1 million in scholarships to 2,242 students plus $507,000 in program support and $185,000 in emergency support to Lone Star College.

Why Our Donors Give to The Foundation

Ninety-one percent of Lone Star College students remain in their communities and become the backbone of a prosperous and functioning society. This combination of higher student incomes and increased business productivity adds nearly $3 billion to the Houston economy.
