Welcome to Art History & Humanities at LSC-Montgomery
Our Art History and Humanities courses provide students with an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach to a wide range of topics, periods, and locations. We encourage students to critically analyze visual/cultural production, interrogate the history of accepted scholarship, and practice socially and politically conscious visual literacy.
Art History & Humanities Student Symposium
The Department of Art, Humanities, and Theatre hosts an annual student symposium to provide students with formal presentation experience and to amplify exemplary student research in the fields of Art History and Humanities. Student research is selected by a committee for its academic contributions, the strength of writing, and the methodological approach.
Students must currently be enrolled at Lone Star College-Montgomery. The research paper may come from previous semesters dating back 1 year (Fall 2022 is acceptable for the 2024 symposium).
