Internal LSC-Grants

Mini Grant


Funds received from this grant are meant to assist faculty and staff in the development and implementation of exemplary projects not normally funded through the regular budgetary process.  This money can be used as seed money to test an idea prior to applying to an external funding source.

2023-2024 Mini Grant Projects

 

Project Title: Using the College Success Inventory (CSI)
Primary Applicant: Deirdre Hayes-Cootz
Project Scope: Use the College Success Inventory (CSI) as an early survey assessing student's needs, then assess if there is a difference in successful grade achievement between treatment and control course section.

Project Title: "She Loves Me" Musical
Primary Applicant: Lisa Morales
Project Scope: Mounting a workshop-style production of a the classic musical "She Loves Me" in conjunction with interdisciplinary analysis of the show's structure and historical underpinnings will enable students to understand the importance of Golden Age musical literature and its stylistic requirements.

Project Title: Student Meditation Room
Primary Applicant: Robbie Richard Rogers
Project Scope: Integrate a meditation room into the tutoring experience with the goal of prioritizing the mental and emotional well-being of students, faculty and staff.

Project Title: Collaboration Learning Space
Primary Applicant: Jennifer Sessa
Project Scope: Convert the Copier Room into a Collaborative Learning Space.

Project Title: LSC-T Pack Ambassadors
Primary Applicant: Henri Dally
Project Scope: An Outreach and Student Development and leadership model designed to engage the community and promote One LSC by creating awareness of higher education benefits, advancing the college mission, and showcasing the numerous programs we have to offer.

Project Title: Student Success Institute's (SSI) Student Program
Primary Applicant: Destiny McGhee-Burgess
Project Scope: Provide funding for professional clothing, workshops, and materials to elevate the ambassadors' preparedness for their careers and further academic pursuits.
