General Information
- The LSC-Kingwood Cosmetology Program prepares the student for the Cosmetology workforce and Texas Licensing Exam. Upon successful completion, the graduate will be eligible for a Cosmetology Operator License. This license will allow one to work in the Cosmetology field specializing in Hair Care, Nail Care, Skin Care or all these areas. Ongoing education on techniques, product knowledge and trends is a big part of being in the Cosmetology industry.
- The LSC-Kingwood Facial Specialist Program prepares the student for the Skin Care Industry and the Texas Licensing Exam. Upon successful completion the graduate will be eligible for an Esthetician License. This license will allow students to work in the skin care industry. Many choose to specialize in skin care, make up, hair removal or lash extensions. Ongoing education is a to be expected to be a success in this industry.
- LSC-Kingwood offers both a Certificate and a Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Cosmetology and in Facial Specialist.
Entrance Requirements for the Operator and Facial Certificate
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age 17 years (Must be 18 years at the time of licensing exam)
- Good academic and disciplinary standing at any other colleges attended
- Regular attendance is required.
Additional Information
- To remain in good academic standing, students must earn C or higher in each course.
- It is recommended that students work no more than 20 hours per week while in the program.
- Students who withdraw may be readmitted one time only.
