The Adjunct Certification Program is structured around four essential concepts of successful instruction
- Creating a Positive Environment for Learning
- Planning for Learning
- Instructing for Learning – Assessment and Evaluation
- Instructing for Learning – Teaching Strategies
The 8-week online program includes
- Participation in a cohort group
- Approximately 24 hours of instruction (additional time required for ESOL)
- Cohort participants must attend 3 synchronous Webex session dates
- Structured discussion boards
- Outcomes showcase
- Reflective journal
Each cohort group will be facilitated by a Lone Star College System faculty member.
Each cohort group will be facilitated by a Lone Star College faculty member and will utilize the current Learning Management System: D2L. Please use MyWorkshops and VTAC Events to search the catalog under the main menu for additional D2L training sessions. You may be asked to login with your LSC user id and password.
Eligibility Requirements:
Adjunct faculty members must:
- have taught at LSC for 2 full semesters within the past 18 months to 24 months
- have completed the Online Teaching Certification - Quick Onboarding and
- have taught at least one semester within the current academic year.
