Why Choose Upward Bound?

Upward Bound participants benefit from a range of services, including academic advising, standardized test preparation, supplemental instruction, scholarship and financial aid assistance, financial literacy training, and college campus tours. By participating in after-school tutorials and a six-week summer program at the Lone Star College-Kingwood campus, students enhance their academic skills and improve their overall performance.

In addition to academic support, students engage in cultural enrichment activities and community service events. Upward Bound also provides developmental workshops focused on essential college success skills, such as time management, study techniques, and career exploration.

Available sessions will be held during the academic year and/or Summer Institute and interested UB participants may enroll.

Two UB participants from each grade level have the unique opportunity to represent their class as members of our UB Council. Class representatives collaborate with UB Staff to ensure the program meets the needs of our students and provides enrichment that matters.
