Why Choose Upward Bound?
Upward Bound participants benefit from a range of services, including academic advising, standardized test preparation, supplemental instruction, scholarship and financial aid assistance, financial literacy training, and college campus tours. By participating in after-school tutorials and a six-week summer program at the Lone Star College-Kingwood campus, students enhance their academic skills and improve their overall performance.

Student Testimonials
"Upward Bound has been such an amazing experience for me. It's more than just an academic program-it's like a family that supports you every step of the way. The tutors and mentors are always there to help with homework, preparing for tests, and even giving advice about college life. It's also a place where I can meet other students who have similar goals and dreams, which makes me feel less alone in my journey."
- N. Navarro
"Upward Bound has taught me a lot about what I want to do in my future. It's also taught me valuable lessons that I'll never forget. Upward Bound means having a mentor or teacher in your corner that wants to help you get on the right track after high school."

"I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this amazing program. This experience has changed my mindset completely and I have learned many great things, but most of all I enjoy the exploring part during the college tours. I am pleased to say that joining Upward Bound was one of the best decisions I have ever made!"

"It's a program to help us prepare and helps students who wouldn't typically have the ability to do anything about college, and they let us have fun while doing it!"
