TRiO
We are pleased to announce that Lone Star College has been awarded TRIO Grants from the Department of Education: LSC North Harris-Educational Talent Search, Upward Bound, and Student Support Services and LSC Tomball-Student Support Services.
The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO is targeted to serve and assist individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.
At LSCS, our TRiO programs provide a variety of one-on-one services to a diverse population of high school and college students. These services include (please note some services are program specific):
