The Intensive English Program (ESOL) at Lone Star College–Kingwood is designed for non-native English speakers who have a desire to learn English and improve their grammar, listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing skills. ESOL is for students and working professionals wishing to build practical English skills for general, academic, or professional purposes.
ESOL program offers courses in reading, grammar, writing, and oral communication in five levels from beginning to advanced. All courses help students enhance their fluency and accuracy in both spoken and written English. Small class sizes allow each student a maximum amount of individual attention from highly-qualified instructors. The program uses the most current teaching methods. Students have access to a state-of-the-art computer lab with the latest software programs and Internet resources.
ESOL students may obtain nontransferable credits or continuing education units (CEUs) depending on their enrollment.
LSC-Kingwood is authorized to issue the I-20 for students who need to obtain an F-1 visa (student visa) for full-time intensive English study. All new international students must attend an international student information session during their first semester.
