Introduction to the theory and application of basic patients handling/functional skills and assessment techniques. Requires LSCS liability insurance.

PTHA 1413 Functional Anatomy
Study of human anatomy and its application to the motion of the musculoskeletal system as it relates to normal activities and dysfunctions. Integration of skills related to the kinesiological assessment of the human body.

PTHA 2201 Essentials of Data Collection
Data collection techniques used to prepare the physical therapist assistant to assist in physical therapy management.

PTHA 1431 Physical Agents
Biophysical principles and application of therapeutic physical agents with specific emphasis on indications, contraindications, medical efficacy, and physiological effects. Requires LSCS liability insurance.

PTHA 2435 Rehabilitation Techniques
Advanced course integrating previously learned and new skills/techniques into the comprehensive rehabilitation of selected long-term pathologies.

PTHA 1321 Pathophysiology
Study of the pathogenesis, prognosis, and therapeutic management of diseases/conditions commonly encountered in physical therapy.

PTHA 2409 Therapeutic Exercise
Concepts, principles, and application of techniques related to therapeutic exercise and functional training.

PTHA 2250 Special Topics in Physical Therapist Assistant
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledges and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. Requires LSCS liability insurance.

PTHA 2217 Issues in Health Care
Discuss organizational patterns, administrative principles, and legal and ethical issues. Includes communications skills and licensure and employment acquisition skills.
