Lone Star College-Montgomery has expanded its weekend classes, creating a new Weekend College.
Why Weekend College?
We’ve heard from many current and prospective students that taking classes on the weekend is preferred over the traditional weekday schedule. Why is that? We know that…
• You’re busy during the week!
• You have more time to concentrate on the weekend!
• You want more flexibility and convenience with course formats!
What is Weekend College?
It’s a package of classes offered on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays that can be taken individually or in combination, letting you set the pace for reaching your academic goal. Weekend College allows you to supplement your weekday schedule or classes, or you can create a weekend-only schedule that can lead toward a degree, certificate, or transfer to a four-year university.
Same—or Increased—Level of Service
Just because you’ll be taking classes on the weekends doesn’t mean you’ll have less access to high-quality student services, such as tutoring, library & database access, advising and counseling, the Wellness Center, etc. In fact, with fewer students on campus, these services will be even MORE accessible for Weekend College students. Oh, and parking will be a breeze!
No Extra Fees or Administrative Hurdles
Enrolling in one or more Weekend College classes costs the same as traditional weekday classes. Tuition and fees are the same. No additional application form is needed. Simply enroll in the class(es) of your choice, and get started!
Weekend Students Aim High
Statistics have shown that LSC-Montgomery students taking classes on the weekend (Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays), perform slightly better than their weekday peers. Perhaps this is because of the reduced stress that normally accompanies the weekend. Regardless, it’s another reason to consider LSC-Montgomery’s new Weekend College.
Maximize Your Schedule
We’ve created a student-friendly weekend schedule of classes for Fall 2010, allowing you to enroll in combinations of classes that will speed you toward your goal. For instance, you can schedule back-to-back history and government classes one semester, and English and math the next. Additionally, some Weekend College classes will be offered in shorter timeframes to allow for even greater flexibility to reach your goal faster.
Pick off Your Pre-Reqs!
If you’re interested in one of our sought-after career-focused programs, such as teacher certification, nursing, physical therapist assistant, radiologic technologist, or biotechnology, Weekend College is a great way to get pre-requisites finished prior to taking the core program coursework.
How Do I Enroll?
