LSC-Tomball VR Lab
Introduction
The LSC-Tomball VR Lab advances teaching methods by creating an immersive learning environment that allows students, faculty, and staff to experience virtually simulated real-world scenarios. This innovative technology transforms traditional learning by offering firsthand experiences in a virtual world with limitless educational possibilities, including team-building exercises and interactive games for all experience levels.
Who can use it?
It is available for reservation to faculty and Innovation Club members, who are expected to handle technical issues independently in the VR Lab. Troubleshooting services are not available through OTS.
Reserving the Lab
Located in room E251 on the second floor of the East Building, the facility can accommodate up to 8 users simultaneously. LSC-Tomball invites faculty and staff to utilize the VR Lab for innovative class sessions and educational events. Users comfortable with basic technical management are invited to explore this cutting-edge resource. The lab is available for use by reservation between Monday and Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the lab remains closed. To reserve this immersive learning space, please complete our reservation form.
Classes with Immersive Tech
By providing students with an alternative learning environment, faculty can also use the VR Lab and headsets as supplemental resources to enhance the curriculum.
Brandon Lowery, Professor of Environmental Science, uses Wander to take students on virtual field trips around the world, highlighting how regional economic disparities impact people and their environments.
