LSC-Tomball Occupational Therapy Department
Occupational therapy assistants help individuals who have become disabled by disease or injury to return to independent living. They work in a variety of areas including hospitals, nursing homes, private clinics, community agencies, and schools. The program at Lone Star College-Tomball begins in the fall semester each year and consists of 60 credit hours of coursework. See the Application Packet link on the right side of this webpage for the online application to the program. The application deadline for the Tomball program is always the first Tuesday in April.
International Studies Designation
The International Studies Area of Concentration (AOC) is an introduction for students to global studies with an emphasis on the interconnectedness of peoples and nations. To earn an Area of Concentration in International Studies, students take 15 credit hours in International Studies (IS) designated courses. These courses are woven throughout the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Lone Star College-Tomball. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive an International Studies Area of Concentration designation on their transcript.
By taking a diverse set of courses with a worldview, students will broaden their perspectives and gain an appreciation and awareness of the global community. In addition, an international studies emphasis demonstrates a level of cultural competency valuable to all students for transfer and job searches.
