Sport Clubs are registered student organizations which exist to promote and develop interest in a particular activity. They are created and run by student volunteers who seek instruction, recreation, competition and social activities at levels not provided through recreational sports, physical education classes, or intercollegiate athletics. sport clubs and recreation organizations operate with an emphasis on student leadership and group participation. Sport Clubs compete in leagues against other collegiate clubs. All members must be Lone Star College students, carry medical insurance, and must sign a waiver of responsibility agreement. Potential sport clubs and must complete necessary registration forms with the Student Activities Department in order to become a registered student organization. In addition, a student representative must meet with the Recreation Sport Coordinator to review requirements, guidelines, club statues, and responsibilities. As a registered organization, one must follow the policies and procedures as outlined by the College, the Student Activities Department and the Recreational Sports Department.
