The Physics Department at Lone Star College-University Park offers courses that explore the structure of physical laws. Along the way you will learn to “think like a physicist” and develop powerful observation and problem-solving skills. Courses include General Physics I & II, Elementary Physics, Mechanics & Heat, Electricity, Magnetism & Light, Stars & Galaxies, and Solar Systems.
Experienced, highly qualified faculty provide physics instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Physics Coaching/Tutoring
Updated: 2024-08-29
The coaches will provide feedback and support to help you understand and complete coursework. However, they will not do your homework for you. You may find it particularly beneficial to go as a group to a “Hotspot” to work on coursework. The coaches will be there to answer questions when needed.
There should be physics support at the following locations and times:
Science Hotspot (CSI Building, ground floor)
- Typically: M-F 8am-5pm
Math Hotspot (B12.631)
- Typically: M, W, Th, F 8am-12pm
