LSC-Kingwood will host auditions for its fall 2022 production, “The Addams Family Musical” on Sept. 6 and 8 from 6-9 p.m.
Lone Star College-Kingwood is calling performers to audition for its fall production of “The Addams Family Musical.”
The drama department is seeking talented actors/vocalists to cast for this family-fun musical about fitting in and getting along. The various roles include 10 featured soloists and the “ancestors” chorus (10 or more actors). The auditions will take place on Sept. 6 and 8 from 6-9 p.m. on the college’s Main Stage in the Administration and Performing Arts (APA) Center.
“While we give priority to our students, we welcome community members to audition. Frequently, community members bring great experience to our stage and demonstrate to our students what commitment and performance are all about,” said Eric Skiles, artistic director of theatre at LSC-Kingwood.
All actors will sign-up for a 10-minute audition slot via https://bit.ly/3QYAn0C and memorize a two-minute monologue. Additionally, they should have a Broadway-style song to perform and bring the sheet music in the correct key for the pianist. Callbacks for specific roles will occur on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
“Being in a musical is a ton of work, but it is so much fun! There are the obvious skills of singing, dancing, and acting,” Skiles said. “Additionally, participants gain an understanding of how many people (both on-stage and back-stage) work together collaboratively to produce an entertaining event for the public to view. These skills drive TV, movies, Hollywood, Broadway, sporting events, musical concerts, fairs, festivals, and many other cultural events.”
