Simone McQuity entertains with her “Much More” performance from “The Fantastiks” at a past Kingwood Kabaret event.
Toe-tapping performances and quality entertainment will draw a big crowd to Lone Star College-Kingwood’s summer production on June 10-11.
Designed as a scholarship fundraiser for the Theatre Department, the “Kingwood Kabaret” is an intimate evening of entertainment that will feature many Jazz standards, Broadway tunes, and songs from the Great American Songbook presented in a cabaret setting. This year’s theme is “Back in Business,” an appropriate sentiment since this is the first kabaret event since 2019.
“We are thrilled to bring this event back to our community where the audience can enjoy their friends’ company and listen to great music,” said Eric Skiles, artistic director of theatre at LSC-Kingwood.
The 2022 “Kingwood Kabaret” is on June 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage in the Administration and Performing Arts Center. Individual tickets are $20, or special seating for two for $50-$55. There are only 70 seats per performance.
“This event is unique for the Kingwood area and has consistently been a sell-out event,” Skiles said. “We are very pleased to offer this event because it helps our students achieve their dreams by providing financial support for their theatre studies.”
“Kingwood Kabaret” started in 2008. Vocalists and entertainers are comprised of LSC-Kingwood students, employees, and community members. To purchase tickets online, visit www.lonestar.edu/seasons. For more information, call 281-312-1532.
