LSC-Online launched the Faculty Orientation to Online Teaching in December, 2008 for faculty interested in teaching an online or hybrid class. The new design is meant to offer a flexible, self-paced format which is available year-round and can be completed in as little as four hours online.

The Orientation course will replace the previous Level I Certification, but is open to any faculty member who wishes to learn about effective pedagogical practices as well as ADA 508 compliance, Quality Matters, and basic tips for using the current Learning Management System, Vista.

The Faculty Orientation for Online Teaching is available on an open enrollment basis and completion of the units of instruction plus scoring an 80 or above on a final assessment is required for certification.
