“We are asking everyone to spread the word,” said Butch Juelg, LSC senior associate vice chancellor Student Services. “We want to help you, your family, your friends and our community stay safe all year long.”
In 2004, the president of the United States and Congress declared the month of October to be Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a dedicated month for the public and private sectors to work together to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity.
In addition to creating awareness, LSC is also training tomorrow’s information security analysts today by offering a Cybersecurity Bachelor of Applied Technology degree. The U.S. Department of Bureau Labor Statistics reports employment of information security analysts is projected to grow 32% from 2022 to 2032, making it one of the most in-demand careers.
