The Lone Star College–CyFair Choral Department presents “Camelot” May 10 through May 12 in the Center for the Arts Main Stage Theatre.
“There are knights, maidens, a noble king and a round table, combined with some of Broadway’s most fairytale-ish and familiar tunes to sweep you away to a faraway land and time,” said Alex Qian, choral director at Lone Star College–CyFair. “So join us for an evening of beautiful sets and costumes with wonderfully talented singers and be transported to a place of ‘happily-ever-after … in Camelot.”
This production is based on T.H. White’s “The Once and Future King,” with Frederick Lowe’s music and Alan Jay Lerner’s lyrics and book. Join cast members Tuesday, May 8 at noon in the Black Box Theatre for a discussion of the book led by Lone Star College–CyFair librarians. Lily Tsang is the music director while Nicole Kenley is the stage director.
Preview night is May 10 at 3 p.m. with tickets only $5. Following the 7:30 p.m. performance May 11 is a reception. The final performance is 5 p.m. May 12.
General tickets are $10 while student and senior tickets are $5. Group discounts are available.
