Ceramics student Shuyi Lee (foreground) and her sister Anyi Lee joined students and faculty at Lone Star College-Kingwood in the fight against hunger by participating in the Lone Star College-Kingwood Bowl-a-Thon sponsored by the ceramics department. The event was an effort to create bowls for the 3rd annual Empty Bowls Houston fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2007. Empty Bowls Houston benefits the Houston Food Bank, and is a partnership between Houston-area ceramists, wood turners and other craft artists, and the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Lawndale Art Center. For a minimum donation of $25, you can enjoy lunch and select a bowl from hundreds of one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted creations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and the Lawndale Art Center.
