Lone Star College-Kingwood’s Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) celebrated its third birthday with a party attended by over 50 members. The ALL Program, which began in February 2004, now has over 700 members. The membership fee of $10 per academic year, allows members to attend the ALL classes held at Lone Star College-Kingwood’s offsite center, East Montgomery County Improvement District Complex in New Caney. This site is easily accessible just off Highway 59, about five minutes north of the main campus. The program offers classes taught by volunteers for area residents 55+ years old and a monthly schedule of classes is sent out via email. Thirty to forty varied classes are offered each month including computers, crafts, excursions and exercise. A complete schedule of classes can be found online at kingwood.lonestar.edu/goto/ce under “what we offer, Academy for Lifelong Learning.” For more information about the program or for volunteer opportunities, contact Pat Chandler, program manager, at 281-312-1749.
