Bands open to area musicians

Lone Star College-North Harris is offering the opportunity for all community members, college students, or high school students to participate in an instrumental activity through the credit/non-credit symphonic, jazz or steel drum band courses, which are offered through the college's continuing education program. The bands consist of credit students as well as community performers, which include a variety of professionals and local talent, and it is open to anyone who plays a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument.

According to Dr. Brack May, the college's band director, "The LSC-North Harris' Night Jazz Ensemble, Community Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Steel Drum Band will again be rehearsing and performing this fall during the evenings. Those of you wishing to be ‘jazzy' or ‘classical' are welcome to join. All of the programs combine credit and non-credit students and are open to all community members with instrumental experience. Everyone is welcome and instruments are available for rent if needed."
