The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) at the University of Texas at Austin honored 29 Lone Star College faculty and staff members with the NISOD Excellence Award.
“These employees demonstrate an outstanding commitment and contribution to their students and colleagues,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC Chancellor. “Lone Star College has some of the finest instructors and staff anywhere, and I am pleased they are getting the recognition they deserve.”
The NISOD Excellence Award allows its members to acknowledge and honor individuals who have made exceptional contributions at their respective institutions. Receiving a NISOD Excellence Award demonstrates that the recipient’s college identifies and appreciates their educational contributions.
Excellence Awards recipients were recognized and honored during the Excellence Awards Dinner and Celebration held May 28 at the Austin JW Marriott.

This is the first time LSC-Online employees have been recognized. LSC-Online began offering classes in fall 2022 and welcomed 3,643 students to its virtual campus that semester.
“Membership in NISOD allows Lone Star College to highlight and recognize the incredible faculty and staff who help our students be successful in the classroom and beyond,” said Head.
In addition, the Excellence Award recipients received a special icon in the conference program and a personalized Excellence Awards Certificate suitable for framing.
The NISOD Excellence Awards were established in 1991. Since then, more than 30,000 recipients have been honored with the Award by their colleges.
