June is National Adopt-A-Cat Month and this year librarians at Lone Star College-CyFair are hosting “Cool Cats of Summer” fun and educational programs for all ages along with an adoptable kitties day.
A Cool Cat “Pawty” at 11 a.m. June 3 kicks off the month-long celebration while festivities wrap up with Cool Cat Café providing the opportunity to adopt cats from Purr Paws Rescue 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. June 24.
Throughout the month there will a range of in-person and online activities available, such as take-and-make crafts, cat-themed book clubs and story times, yoga with cats, an author talk and book signing, a humane cat trap-neuter-return training, a “Cat and the Law” presentation, a feline-inspired writing workshop and so much more, said Librarian Regina Vitolo.
“Even our online content will be taken over by cats, with social media posts featuring cat adoption stories from the library, cat-themed book recommendations, a cat poster contest, and a virtual Cat ‘Purride’ Parade,” she said.
