Lone Star College has partnered with curriculum experts to build strong pipelines and support the fast-growing tech industry in the greater Houston area. This union will close the gap in skills in the workforce.
“Lone Star College is committed to working with businesses throughout Texas to address talent shortages through professional development, training and obtaining the most needed IT industry certifications,” said Linda Leto Head, LSC Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Employer Relations.
This launch will enable employers to keep up with the accelerating pace of technological change by providing a trained workforce in high-demand tech skills and certifications for new or incumbent employees. LSC will offer industry-recognized credentials and fast-track programs, including AWS Cloud, Computer Programming, Coding, CompTIA Security+ and Salesforce Developer, to put the most in-demand careers within reach of an educated workforce.
“This partnership will pave a pathway for learners to get valuable skills needed to either enter the workforce or change careers,” said Connor O’Sullivan, LSC Continuing Education Executive Director. “It will also accelerate the growth of Houston’s tech economy for corporate partners and local employers.”
