Lone Star College trains students to be competitive in the computer science field

The Computer Science program at Lone Star College prepares students on the current technology skills needed to enter fast-growing fields, including computer engineering, information systems, information technology and software engineering.

“Lone Star College works closely with area business and community leaders to develop programs that will properly train future employees to address the workforce needs,” said Linda Leto Head, LSC Senior Associate Vice Chancellor External and Employer Relations. “We also ensure our programs will help students advance in their current positions, prepare them to transfer to a four-year university, obtain industry certification or help meet their other academic and career goals.”

LSC offers many computer science programs that teach students how to develop and write programs that help store, locate and retrieve documents containing data and information.

“With a computer science degree, students can go into various fields, including artificial intelligence, game design programming, robotics, computer systems, database administration and architecture,” said Kimberly Hubbard, LSC-Westway Park Technology Center Instructional Dean. 

The Computer Science program at LSC trains students to create and modify test code forms and scripts that allow computer applications to run. Students also learn how to analyze user needs and design software solutions.
