Lone Star College-CyFair celebrates national Free Comic Book Day with cosplay, crafts, contests and more for all ages in the library Saturday, May 6.
Bring the family to enjoy activities throughout the library and to pick up a free special edition comic book while supplies last (as there are limited titles and quantities received from distributors.)
Cosplay is encouraged for all with a photo booth available for snapping selfies as well as a Cosplay Contest and a DIY Comic Art Contest with four categories: children, tweens, teens and adults. Prizes include Amazon gift cards and books.
What’s happening for gamers? Stop by the Teen Room for tabletop gaming or head upstairs in Room 215 for console gaming featuring dozens of games as well as the classic Just Dance on the Wii. There is also comic trivia for adults and teens at 1 p.m. in Room 131.
What can crafters create? Choose to make Superhero masks or buttons, paint D&D style minis and for ages 7-12, there will be an X-Wing craft at noon and 1:30 p.m. in the Kids Corner.
The family day of fun will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a special Superhero Storytime at 10:30 a.m. in the Kids Corner.
