Choose to enjoy a month of entertainment opportunities at Lone Star College-CyFair starting with the musical “Illyria” April 13, a comical re-telling of Shakespeare’s play “Twelfth Night”, and several free events.

Capturing the rollicking energy of the play’s hilarious hijinks as well as the deeply felt emotions of loss and unrequited love, “Illyria” is LSC-CyFair Drama Department’s “Season of Shakespeare” finale set April 13-April 22 in the Main Stage Theatre.

Come for the laughs and then return the next week for the April 28 “My Song – iBelong” performance, also in the Main Stage Theatre. This concert features LSC-CyFair’s Chamber Singers and Concert Choir with an invitation for the audience to sing-along some Beatles favorites in the closing medley.

“No matter what you have in your playlist, music has the ability to transcend language barriers, to cross cultural and social boundaries, and create a sense of belonging,” said Dr. Paulo Gomes, Director of Vocal Division and Choral Activities. “Our students come from different walks of life, and we are thrilled to share our diverse songs with you. In fact, you can join us in our last song, a medley called ‘The Beatles in Revue.’”

This month also includes four free events, which will be held in the Recital Hall, including the 4th Annual Contemporary Music Festival April 14, a faculty performance titled "Echoes" Song of Ukraine April 25; a Fine Arts Showcase April 28 featuring LSC-CyFair’s talented students of drama, music, art and creative writing; and an instrumental recital April 29.
