Lone Star College offers a variety of workforce, academic, transfer, continuing education and baccalaureate programs close to home to assist anyone on their educational journey.
“Lone Star College is an affordable choice to earn a quality education, and we offer flexible schedules, especially for students who work full time or have important obligations,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC Chancellor. “Students can take what they learn with us and transfer to a four-year university or learn a trade to successfully enter the workforce.”
LSC will showcase its offerings at its annual Open House April 11 from 4-7 p.m. at all eight locations. Attendees can tour campuses, speak with campus representatives to discuss their educational needs, learn about college resources and even begin the enrollment process. They will also get information on
- The Honors College at LSC, a program for high-achieving students,
- LSC-Online, the newest campus and
- LSC TechConnect, which provides digital resources such as laptops and iPads.
“Open House is a casual, come-and-go event that will give potential students an idea of what Lone Star College has to offer,” said Head. “We are a great choice for individuals still figuring out their educational or career goals.”
LSC has over 200 program options, including four bachelor’s degrees, for students to complete a degree, transfer to a four-year institution or enter the workforce. Additionally, LSC offers comprehensive educational resources that can address students’ needs, including testing, financial, health, campus safety and student life.
“At Lone Star College, I have learned so many skills and knowledge, not only from my classes but from the resources available,” said Jacqueline Gonzalez, LSC-Houston North student. “Being a first-generation college student was scary, but through help from my professors and advisors, I have grown and have become more independent in my new and improved life.”
