The Honors College at Lone Star College will hold a virtual information session Tuesday, March 21, at 4 p.m. to discuss its top-quality programming for high-achieving students interested in becoming global and culturally competent citizens.
“The Honors College at Lone Star College gave me the opportunity to conduct independent STEM research for the first time, which led me to present my findings at three separate conferences,” said Ivey Knebel, LSC Chancellor’s Fellow and Barry Goldwater Scholarship recipient. “This experience prepared me to conduct research in a laboratory setting at Rice University, where I learned more scientific techniques that have further propelled me in my academic journey.”
Knebel is currently attending The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
LSC Honors College representatives will be on hand to discuss honors scholarships, studying abroad, participating in national conferences, service-learning projects and cultural events. To attend, individuals must register at https://forms.office.com/r/ijFTqSGdxm. After registering, they will receive a Zoom link to access the meeting.
“The Honors College provides Lone Star College students with robust research and leadership opportunities that will challenge them and provide key marketable skills,” said Katharine Caruso, Ph.D., LSC Associate Vice Chancellor Honors and International Education. “These skills will greatly benefit them when they transfer to four-year universities or start their careers.”
