Lone Star College Foundation welcomes four new board members who will help develop various opportunities to help students achieve their academic goals.
"Lone Star College Foundation Board Members advise and oversee the financial security and longevity of the Foundation's assets," said Nicole Robinson Gauthier, CFRE, LSC Foundation Executive Director. "They also serve as Foundation ambassadors and strategic plan advisors."
Foundation board members serve three-year terms. They are nominated by peers and approved by the LSC Chancellor and LSC Board of Trustees. The new members are:
- Larry Chatman, Director of Sales and Recruiting for Keating Auto Group. Chatman serves on the boards of Arrow Child and Family Ministries, HCA Tomball and Tomagwa Governance.
- Paula Mendoza, President and CEO of Possible Missions. Mendoza attended North Harris Community College (now known as Lone Star College) and served as Secretary on the University of Houston System Board of Regents from 2013-2019.
- Anhlan Nguyen, DBA, Executive Director of Development and Marketing and Professional Life Coach/Speaker/Trainer for the Institute for Civic Education in Vietnam. Nguyen is also a bestselling author, a community leader and serves on the board of the Vietnamese Culture and Science Association.
- Bret Strong, Managing Shareholder and Founder of The Strong Firm. Strong serves on the board of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership, is past chairman of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Board and received the Interfaith of The Woodlands Hometown Hero Award in 2014. Strong is active with the University of Colorado – Leeds School of Business – New Venture Challenge.
"Board members assist in finding innovative ways to provide students with scholarships and educational programs to help them complete their education at Lone Star College, transfer to a four-year institution or successfully enter the workforce," said Gennifer Kelly, LSC Foundation Board Chair.
