Bring the family to Lone Star College-CyFair’s Society for the Arts (SFA) Spring Gala for an evening of songs and instrumental works featuring the college’s award-winning, nationally acclaimed faculty artists Jan. 12.
Stop by the 6:30 p.m. silent auction benefitting LSC-CyFair’s students through the SFA program, then enjoy the free 7:30 p.m. event in the Main Stage Theatre (building 1) followed with a reception and light refreshments.
"The vision of the Center for the Arts has always been to create an artistic hub for our campus and community. The Society for the Arts supports this by providing much needed scholarships for our students and additional funding for our programs,” said Joshua Estrada, Fine Arts Coordinator. “We believe our students deserve an audience and our audiences deserve to see the level of talent at our campus."
For nearly two decades, LSC-CyFair’s Center for the Arts has given hundreds of students a place to learn and practice the skills of their respective interests in the arts, while providing the Cy-Fair community a place for families to enjoy many evenings of entertainment.
SFA members Cheryl LeJune and her husband, Mark Darby, have been longtime patrons and supporters of LSC-CyFair’s visual and performing arts events and program.
“From jazz and symphony orchestra concerts to musicals and plays, and on to the visual arts at the Bosque Gallery, we are constantly amazed by the quality of work LSC-CyFair students produce. We have had the opportunity to meet many of the students and the professors who inspire them,” said LeJune. “And we feel strongly that our support, through donations and volunteerism, helps the students perform at their best, both academically and through their craft.”
SFA membership includes several tax-deductible donor levels beginning with the first level of support (up to $100). Additional donor level benefits include seat plaques, recognition in selected event programs, meet-and-greet events with cast members, premium reserved seats and scholarships awarded in the donor’s name.
The Spring Gala is an opportunity to get a sampling of the talent at LSC-CyFair, information on upcoming LSC-CyFair performances and to learn more about supporting student artists, actors, musicians and vocalists beyond attendance at impressive musical and theatrical performances or unique and creative art gallery exhibitions.
