Learn about Navigating Mental Health Concerns in K-12 Environment Oct. 5 at LSC-CyFair

A discussion on mental health in the educational system in support of K-12 studentsJoin an informative conversation with mental health professionals Oct. 5 to kick off the fall Lone Star College-CyFair Education Speaker Series.

“Students going into the teaching profession will walk away with a greater understanding of how to navigate difficult conversations about mental health,” said LSC-CyFair Professor Erika Stewart-Moore.

Co-facilitating this discussion on mental health in the educational system in support of K-12 students are LSC-CyFair Psychology Professor Jason Fernandez and Kristy Chavis, an assistant principal and counselor in Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. Participate in person in the Center for Academic and Student Affairs (CASA) Room 110 or go to LoneStar.edu/EDUC-Oct5 to attend virtually.
