Be a Participant in LSC-CyFair’s Evolving Art Installation “The Forest”

The Forest - An Evolving Art Installation in the Bosque GalleryCommunity members are encouraged to help create “The Forest” – an evolving art installation on display in September at the Lone Star College-CyFair Bosque Gallery.

The exhibition begins with an installation of a cage and tree branches and involves viewer participation and writing. Paper slips will be available in the gallery for viewers to add to the birdcage, overflowing into a forest of words.

There will be a 6:30 p.m. opening reception Sept. 1 with Mari Omori, a Houston multimedia artist and educator with Japanese roots, and her former student T C. Anderson, now writer and collaborator.

Come experience this unique exhibition through Sept. 29 as a participant and then plan to return  to see Roslyn M. Dupré’s “Savage Bayou” in October and the Student Art Showcase in November.

Dupré is a multidisciplinary artist who works with humble materials and traditional craftsmanship to fashion sewn papers and (un)useful tools. The end-of-semester showcase features student talent in the multi-media representation of drawings, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design works, ceramics, photography, painting and more.
