Lone Star College-CyFair’s “Summer Heat: Special Series on Political Hot Topics” continues with the “Abortion Rights and U.S. Supreme Court Rulings” forum July 21.
In an effort to bring awareness to important social issues currently dividing Americans, the LSC-CyFair Government Department kicked off this series last month with a conversation on guns in America, said Miranda Ashworth, series coordinator and a facilitator at the first successful forum.
“As we come together to navigate this month’s hot topic, we are looking forward to another opportunity for our students and the Cy-Fair community to respectfully express differing opinions and engage in a dynamic discussion on this current social issue,” said Ashworth.
Following a short presentation, LSC-CyFair faculty Dr. Heidi Jo Green and Billy Justus will facilitate July’s informal, round table, interactive conversation with attendees.
Save the date, Sept. 1, for the final forum in this series “Freedom of Press and the Banning of Books Nationwide” with Librarian Tracy Williams as facilitator.
All forums in person will be held from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. in the Center for Academic and Student Engagement (CASE) building, room 114.
