LSC-CyFair Employees Hope to Inspire Art Lovers with Their Creations

Assembly: LSC-CyFair faculty and staff art exhibitionAs the days heat up this summer, art lovers can cool off at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Bosque Gallery featuring “Assembly” - the first art faculty and staff exhibition in three years.

"This particular grouping of faculty and staff art will reflect the unique points of view of each artist while exploring similar themes around expression, simple forms and introspection,” said Heather Braman, a featured staff artist and part-time gallery coordinator. “It is always exciting to see diverse work come together in a harmonious viewing experience."

“Assembly” will showcase the talent of nearly a dozen artists in acrylic works on canvas, oil on panel, mixed media on paper, chalk pastel drawings, photography, 3D works and collage. Visit this summer art exhibition in person June 9 through July 7.

James Campbell, one of the exhibition faculty artists and chair of the Art Department, said “Bookmark your calendar and join us as we explore the intersection of catharsis and creativity in ‘Assembly’.”

Laura Sprague, an art educator for more than three decades who joined LSC-CyFair as an adjunct ceramic art instructor in 2020, is excited to display the beauty of her summer Bosque Gallery submission and to have viewers contemplate her artwork in person.

“The four vases I created for this exhibition represent the four elements, and I used technically advanced methods in their ceramic creation,” she said. “In addition, my hope is that viewers will see the awesome skill and training represented by my colleagues and be inspired by their artwork.”
