Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) awarded more than $385,000 to Lone Star College Foundation (LSCF) in support of LSC-Tomball students. The funds will be used to purchase equipment for two new programs, Medical Lab Technician and Dental Assistant, which will start in Fall 2022.
The grant award will also provide scholarships, cover the cost of certification and licensure fees for health occupations students, and cover required meningitis vaccinations for any student needing assistance with this expense.
“We continue to be so appreciative of the generous support shown to Lone Star College-Tomball by Tomball Regional Health Foundation,” said Lee Ann Nutt, Ed.D., LSC-Tomball President. “They continue to enable us to provide our students with the very best opportunities and make our community a great place to live and work.”
TRHF also funded a $100,000 endowment in memory of Lynn LeBouef, former LSCF board member and TRHF CEO. LSC-Tomball students who are enrolled in the lifePATH program will be eligible to apply for this financial support.
“Not only was Lynn LeBouef a wonderful advocate for Tomball, but he was also a trusted friend who could be relied on for advice and counsel while serving on the Lone Star College Foundation Board of Directors,” said Nicole Robinson Gauthier, CFRE, LSC Foundation Executive Director. “These additional funds and endowment will ensure Lone Star College-Tomball students have the resources necessary to complete their education.”
LSC-Tomball lifePATH is a four-year comprehensive model of post-secondary educational opportunities for students who have disabilities that affect executive functioning.
“The goal of Tomball Regional Health Foundation is to improve public health, prevent disease, promote wellness or enhance the general welfare of the citizens served by the Tomball Regional Health Foundation,” said Marilyn Kinyo, Tomball Hospital Authority Chief Administrative Office. “These undertakings meet this goal and the funding being requested is necessary for improving medical care, health and wellness.”
