Join the national Free Comic Book Day of fun for all ages from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at the Lone Star College-CyFair Library.
The family day event includes the distribution of free special edition comic books while supplies last as there are limited titles and quantities received from distributors.
Cosplay is encouraged and a photo booth will be available all day for selfies and making memories.
What’s happening for gamers? Stop by the teen room for tabletop gaming and feel free to bring some of your own to play too. Upstairs, retro console enthusiasts can compete with their friends on SNES Classic consoles pre-loaded with dozens of games as well as classic Just Dance on the Wii.
Throughout the day, all ages can be crafty choosing to make a Sanrio or Pokemon pompom and for crafters ages 7-12, there will be two afternoon sessions for making a Star Wars X-Wing Helmet.
Don’t miss your chance to create your own comic and win prizes in the DIY Comic Art Contest featuring four age group categories: children, tweens, teens and adults.
In addition, Librarians Rachel Hugenberg and Celeste Perez will help Professor Amy Larsen facilitate the first meeting of the new CyFair Comics Club for ages 18 and up. The comic for discussion will be “Ms. Marvel Volume 1: No Normal” by G. Willow Wilson.
