Students can learn how to apply for thousands of dollars in scholarships for the fall semester with workshops designed to walk them through the scholarship application process.
Throughout March, the LSC-North Harris Financial Aid Department is hosting workshops to cover the online scholarship application, the qualifications to receive a scholarship, and resources when searching for external scholarship opportunities.
“Most students don’t know how easy it is to apply for scholarships and that they can do it all online,” said Juan Nicanor, financial aid advisor. “The scholarship offerings made available to us by the Lone Star College Foundation goes a long way in helping our students. These workshops will allow us to open students’ eyes to these opportunities.”
Students who attend the presentations will also have the chance to receive a $500 Presidential Scholarship. The requirements for the scholarship are:
- Attend a Scholarship Workshop at LSC-North Harris
- Register for at least 6 credits for the fall at LSC-North Harris by April 15
- Submit a Lone Star College Foundation scholarship application by April 1
The workshops will be held every Wednesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Learning Center located in the Academic Building, Room A-207. There will be no workshops during the week of March 14 – 20 for Spring Break.
