Join Robert Rico, Restorative Justice Director with the Office of Inclusive Excellence at University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), for a discussion on restorative justice at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Education Speaker Series virtual event set 6 pm - 7:30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Attendees at the first event of this year’s Education Speaker Series will learn what restorative justice is, the benefits and how to implement it in the classroom setting.
“This speaker series provides some unique insight and useful classroom tools for success on a variety of topics for our pre-service teachers, as well as those already teaching or in education careers,” said LSC-CyFair professor Shamim Arastu. “This month, we are excited to have Mr. Rico share his expertise in the practice of restorative justice.”
With 20 years as a police officer and 14 years as a University of Texas at San Antonio faculty member, Rico is also founder of the Restorative Justice Program of Kendall County and co-author of the book “Restorative Discipline Practices: A Journey in Implementation by A Community of Texas Educators.”
