The Board of Trustees of the Lone Star College System is accepting applications from interested citizens desiring to be appointed to the Board to fill the unexpired term for District 7. LSCS board policy allows the board to appoint a trustee to fill the vacant position until the next regularly scheduled election of members to the board in November 2022.

LSC Board of Trustees represent single-member districts. District 7 includes Conroe, Willis, north Woodlands and Splendora communities. The district border generally follows FM 1314 and Highway 59 to the east of I-45 up through Splendora, and to the west, FM 1488 north through Willis.

To hold the office of trustee, individuals must have been a resident of the State for 12 months and a resident of District 7 for six months before the day on which the appointment is made.

Responsibilities of the Board include setting policy, oversight of finances, and employing and evaluating the Chancellor. Trustees are expected to regularly attend Board meetings and related events, actively participate in committee work, build collegial working relationships within the Board and community, and act in the best interest of the organization.
