1. What are you studying at LSC-University Park?
I am currently working toward an Associate of Arts degree focusing on education.
2. What does earning a degree mean to you?
Earning a degree means all my hard work finally gets to be shown off; it is also one step closer to my dream of being a teacher.
3. What are some of the biggest advantages of attending a community college?
Community colleges have a tighter knit relationship with their students. I always feel heard because the student body is so close to the faculty and staff!
4. What campus resources have helped you the most?
The Advising Office is always happy to answer my questions no matter how many times I call. They have been a huge help!
5. Why is it important to get involved with student activities?
When the pandemic hit, student activities went online and, for some of us, it was the only socializing we got with people our age with similar problems. It is also important because you are exposed to so many more people, cultures, and even problems that keep you on your toes.
6. Where is your favorite place to study on campus?
My favorite place to study is in the Student Learning Resource Center (SLRC).
7. What are your goals for after graduation?
After graduation I plan to go to Texas Tech and earn my bachelor’s degree in teaching.
8. What is your advice for incoming students at LSC-University Park?
Do not be afraid to make mistakes, live your life. Regret nothing because every decision you make is the right one.
