It’s Not Too Late to Register with Super Saturday and Virtual College 101 Assistance at LSC-CyFair

Robust Enrollment Despite COVID-19Despite the social distancing and COVID restrictions, Lone Star College-CyFair maintains robust enrollment numbers with another fall semester starting soon with more than 20,000 students.

“Our team members have shown creativity, flexibility and adaptability these last few months!  I am thankful for all they do to support our students - and each other - during this time,” said LSC-CyFair President Dr. Seelpa Keshvala.

Since March, LSC-CyFair’s Student Services has moved all student support services to virtual formats keeping students and college staff safe, while remaining committed to providing resources for academic and emotional success.

After only a month of preparation back in April, the Outreach and Orientation team was able to host 3 months of daily virtual College 101 sessions to ready thousands of students for the fall semester.

There are 17 different sessions that make up the College 101 series such as Financial 101, Admissions 101, Workforce 101, Testing 101 and Campus Life 101. Orientation 101, which is a live session, is the more popular and frequently attended session averaging 80-150 students weekly.

Students can register for the free On-demand Virtual College 101 sessions at LoneStar.edu/cyfairoutreach. Students can also text the help line at 281.969.3949 for assistance from Student Ambassadors.

There is still time to register for the fall semester starting Aug. 24.

For first-hand assistance, Student Services will be available on campus with limited services to support the Virtual Super Saturday event set at 9 a.m. Aug. 22. Attendees will receive help completing the admission and enrollment process while gaining knowledge about campus life and resources toward a successful college experience.
