HOUSTON (Jul. 12, 07) – Chancellor-elect Dr. Richard Carpenter has extended the search for president of North Harris College.

Dr. Carpenter indicated that, while the search process had attracted outstanding and qualified candidates, his decision was based on a desire to create the best fit for the district’s original college.

“We will undertake an expedited search in anticipation of finding the right candidate quickly,” Dr. Carpenter wrote North Harris College employees.

Until a new president is selected, Dr. Steve Head, executive vice chancellor, will continue to serve as interim president of North Harris College.

A new timeline for naming a president has not been announced.
