The Pharmacy Technician Training Program at Lone Star College-Tomball has been accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the nationally recognized authority in pharmacy education. The accreditation is effective from October 2006.
The accreditation process began early last year and ended with the ASHP's visit to the program site last November 13, 2007. Survey reports show that the program meets the guidelines of ASHP with zero areas of non-compliance. Started in August 2005, the program produced the third set of graduates in May 2008, making a total of 33 diploma certificate graduates since inception.
"The Pharmacy Technician program at LSC-Tomball is proud to serve the ever-increasing need for qualified pharmacy technicians," said Stephen Odumosu, instructor and program director. "Many of our students are employed before completing the program and we are receiving excellent feedback from their employers.
